The club met all its goals this year and will receive a citation award. This year’s theme is The Magic of Rotary and is based around the transformative power of Rotary around the world.
Stephanie Urchick from Pennsylvania is this year’s Rotary International president. The annual conference will be in Calgary, Canada June 21-25.
District Governor Julie Johnson Haffner from the Loveland Club will visit us on August 15. The District Governor Elect is Karen Morgan from Fort Collins Foothills, and the DGN is Albin Shaw from Casper Five Trails.
The board did a strategic review with Rob Jenkins on membership, service, and fundraising. Our club membership goal is 86, focused on recruiting younger and diverse members and community leaders.
For engagement, the goal is to have 40 percent attendance at meetings by having quality programs based on quality field trips, Rotary education, and club business. Social time and networking will continue. We will also work to put more mentoring and support in for new members.
The club will be reengaging with international projects, such as the international scholarship student. Locally, the club will focus on increasing participation and awareness by evaluating service projects. Kelly hopes we will develop 1-2 new meaningful projects and investigate re-starting the Rotaract Club.
For fundraising, the club will continue with Taste of Laradise and possibly take over Black Tie Bingo. We will work to reinvigorate birthday and anniversary giving.
Kelly is asking that we be present and attend meetings and events. She encourages all of us to volunteer for service projects and fundraisers. Recruit new members when you meet new people.
The budget overview and committee assignments will be coming soon. Think about what committee(s) you would like to serve on.

‘Response: The Rotary Club of Laramie will make a donation to the public library children’s book fund in the speaker’s name.
