Introduction: Doug Faus
The project is on track for a March completion date. The fundraising campaign should be wrapped up by the end of the year. Special thanks to a match from John Evans! The campaign is looking to double its goal of $4 million to raise $8 million.
The Ivinson Memorial Hospital Foundation is 40 years old. It has helped with projects such as: the cancer center, dialysis unit, and the guest house.
The updated ER area will have an undercover drop off and a new ambulance bay with better access to trauma rooms. It will have 13 full-size treatment rooms and renovate 8,800 square feet of the existing facility. The area will also be expanded by 3,250 square feet, increasing clinical and non-clinical areas, including waiting accommodations.
Emergency room visits continue to grow. In the updated facility, there will be a new nurse’s station within sight of the rooms. There will be more treatment and trauma rooms. This will be a true community benefit. It will also have improved circulation and airflow.
The cost is $12-$14 million, and the budget has grown because of add-ons and inflation. About $8 million will be committed in private funds, $3 million will be state funding, and the hospital will provide the remainder.
Response: Terry Moss
‘Response: The Rotary Club of Laramie will make a donation to the public library children’s book fund in the speaker’s name.
NOTE: We Do Not Donate a Book!
Rotary 4-way test
Of the things we think, say, or do:
•Is it the Truth?
•Is it Fair?
•Will it build Good Will and
Better Friendships?
•Will it be Beneficial to All
Concerned?
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
•FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
•SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
•THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
•FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
