Introduction: Caitlin White
Olafur Jonsson is from Iceland. Iceland has a population of 387,756 and has more sheep than people. Oli’s town has a population of about 22,000. He enjoys all outdoor activities. He plays soccer, mountain bikes, golfs, and fishes.
Oli has three siblings, one younger brother and two older sisters. One of his sisters was an exchange student in Steamboat in 2019. Oli’s family enjoys travel and has been to Austria, Spain, and Sweden. His grandfather built a summer house as well.
The school system in Iceland is different than in the U.S. Elementary school is 10 years and then you can choose to go to high school for another three years. You are 16 when you make this choice. You can also decide if you want to go onto university.

Oli has two years of high school left and is considering going to university. He is interested in being a carpenter.
Iceland is famous for the Blue Lagoon, volcanoes, a lighthouse, ocean glaciers, and its outdoor spaces.
The food culture comes from America and Europe. Once a year, Icelandic adults eat old Icelandic food, like sheep head. You must be 18 to participate.
Instead of an army, Iceland has a rescue unit. This is mainly for tourists and is self-funded volunteers. Often there are daily recuse activities.
Oli wanted to go on exchange to learn English and a new culture. He thanked the club for welcoming him.

Rotary 4-way test
Of the things we think, say, or do:
•Is it the Truth?
•Is it Fair?
•Will it build Good Will and
Better Friendships?
•Will it be Beneficial to All
Concerned?
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
•FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
•SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
•THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
•FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
