Introduction: Nicole Hauser
What is mental health? Club members offered ideas. It can be working on how to get along in the world and how to interact with others. It is how we adapt to the world around us and how we work with others in society.
One theme at Cathedral Home is health. Mental health plays in heavily. Mental health can sometimes take a backseat in everyday life. There has been a heavy stigma around mental health and mental illness in the past. People are not always open to talking about it.
Mental health is very broad. There is a connection between physical and mental health.
There are resources provided in the community. There can be a linear struggle to thriving mentally. People need to recognize their feelings and how they change in the moment or overtime. This can help you recognize when you need help.
Practicing having these conversations is important. You can also learn to identify people and how to establish trust to have these conversations.
Self-care is a huge part of mental health. Many cannot afford mental health services, so it is important to do things that make you feel good. This can help ward off depression.
Depression manifestation can look like a low mood, isolation, loss of interest, irritation, agitation, excessive sleep, insomnia, and emotional outbursts.
It is important to remember to work on what is in your power and what you can control. Education can be helpful.
There is a community health center with services on a sliding scale. There are long wait times and big barriers in Laramie to receive service. There are a lot of practitioners in Laramie, but almost all are full.
Cathedral Home has community counseling for those that need financial assistance.

Rotary 4-way test
Of the things we think, say, or do:
•Is it the Truth?
•Is it Fair?
•Will it build Good Will and
Better Friendships?
•Will it be Beneficial to All
Concerned?
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
•FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
•SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
•THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
•FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
