Program: Albany County Conservancy, Anne Brande

Introduction: Tony Hoch

Anne Brande started the Albany County Conservancy and received non-profit status in 2020. Its mission is to preserve, protect, and promote habitat history and wildlife in South Eastern Wyoming.

It is a long-term goal of the ACC to establish a Migrations Museum at Tie Siding and lay a historic trail from the historic town of Sherman to the historic town of Tie Siding.
There are over 500 nationally-significant historic sites just outside of Laramie. One is Sand Creek National Natural Landmark south of Laramie. It contains petroglyphs of warriors bearing shields dated around 1500 AD.

The non-profit has been working on a documentary about a biologist and his work with eagles. This biologist has a golden eagle that cannot fly following an accident. He uses it as a lure bird to put trackers on other eagles. There is a high concentration of eagles in this area. However, the eagle population has been on decline due to growing wind projects.

ACC is also working on having the Lincoln Monument put on the historic registry. This piece of art was created by Robert Russin. The Albany County Historic Preservation Society has helped to secure a grant to get someone with the education and experience to handle getting this done. The Lincoln Monument was originally crafted for Lincoln’s 150th birthday. It was paid for by Charles Jeffrey for $40,000. Russin cast it in Mexico out of 70 tons of clay.

Response: Christina Kuzmych

Response: The Rotary Club of Laramie will make a donation to the public library children’s book fund in the speaker’s name.
NOTE: We Do Not Donate a Book!

Rotary 4-way test
Of the things we think, say, or do:
•Is it the Truth?
•Is it Fair?
•Will it build Good Will and
  Better Friendships?
•Will it be Beneficial to All
  Concerned?

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
•FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
•SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
•THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
•FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
