Introduction: Caitlin white
Marianna arrived in Laramie in August 2023. She will head home on June 30, 2024. This was her last Rotary meeting before heading out on the West Coast bus trip.
Mari enjoyed skiing on the ski team at Snowy Range. She didn’t compete but enjoyed the experience.
She rode a horse at Dave Hansen’s and attended a few football games. At her first host family, she experienced Halloween and shooting. Mari was also on the tennis team.

Mari recently attended District Conference with the other exchange students. They worked on a service project and participated in a flag ceremony. Mari enjoyed Steamboat’s mountains and celebrated her birthday during conference.
Mari attended prom and made some good friends. With her second host family, she visited Denver. They went to the aquarium and attended sports games. Sports are more popular here than they are in Brazil. Her host family also took her to cut down a Christmas tree.
Mari went with her host family to Lander and Arizona. During her Lander trip, she rode a jackalope. She also attended a baseball spring training game in Arizona.
Mari went on an East Coast trip to New York, Pennsylvania, and DC. She enjoyed seeing the dinosaurs at the science museum and attending “The Notebook” for a Broadway show. She saw the Statute of Liberty and Central Park. Plus, the cherry blossoms were out.
Mari had a lot of fun at school. She tried many different classes that are not offered in Brazil, such as weights training, humor & satire, and mythology. It is very different than school in Brazil. She made many good memories, and would like to come back in the future.
Special thanks to Justin & Jennie Christenson and Abby Rux & Andrew Wesche for hosting Mari!

‘Response: The Rotary Club of Laramie will make a donation to the public library children’s book fund in the speaker’s name.
