Introduction: Dave Hansen
Amanda talked to the club about her year in Wyoming. Amanda lived with the Hansen family for her first six months here. They went to different places in Colorado and to Yellowstone. She also enjoyed snowmobiling and horseback riding with them.
Amanda then lived with the Pearson family. She had a fun time living with two siblings and going skiing. Amanda and her family enjoyed Fourth of July fun at the Pearson’s lake house in Alcova.
Finally, Amanda lived with her best friend, Kimber’s family, the Stinsons. Amanda lived out of town near the Buford area and experience sheep ranching.
Amanda enjoyed attending a lot of UW games, including football and basketball. She even sat courtside.
Amanda played volleyball and participated in indoor and outdoor track. Her team with volleyball went undefeated. In track, she did sprints, long jump, and triple jump. She was able to attend Simplot Games and was a great competitor. She especially enjoyed when pro athletes came to meet and compete with the students.
Amanda also participated in FFA and 4-H. She competed with the sales and marketing team and attended the fundraising banquet. She went to state in Cheyenne with the team.
Amanda also loves watching sports. She went to a hockey game at New Years, attended Broncos games, and a Rockies games.
Outside of school, Amanda tried shooting, horseback riding, and worked to help with her friends’ pigs. She attended Homecoming and prom. Amanda was lucky to get to walk for graduation.
Amanda went on the two-week West Coast trip with the other exchange students. She flew to Phoenix and spent some time in Sedona. The group spent time at the Grand Canyon and Disney Land. They had a beach day and visited Yosemite. Her favorite part was Las Vegas. They did a night limo tour there.
She finished her time here with a family trip to Yellowstone.
Amanda had a well-attended going away party with the club. After her presentation, she got to work packing since she is headed home soon.
We will miss you, Amanda!
