Introduction: Terry Moss

Coach Sawvel is the 33rd head coach for UW football. He has been with the team since 2020. Next week is a big week. Practice starts.

There on ten recruits coming to UW for visits soon. Six of these are already committed. UW recruited the top player in the state as a quarterback.

Coach told the club that this is his dream job. He loves UW and the people in this community. He is approaching things slightly differently than Bohl but fundamentally most is the same.

Coach is striving for a consistent level of success and wants to win a Mountain West Championship. He has built a good relationship with the players and has raised the expectation standards for on and off the field. The team gained a total 800 pounds last season; this season they are at 1,100 pounds gained.
The team has two goals: one to complete and get a degree and two to win a Mountain West Championship. UW football has a great community, facility, and donors. It has a good foundation for development and is working to improve its players.

Last year there were 42 official visits to UW, and 32 of those players are on the roster now. That’s a 76% success rate. They had a net gain out of the transfer portal. UW will never be a team that builds through transfers and instead will use the poral to augment in helpful ways. They will do the best they can with the players they have.

Coach encouraged everyone to come out and support the team.

Rotary 4-way test
Of the things we think, say, or do:
•Is it the Truth?
•Is it Fair?
•Will it build Good Will and
  Better Friendships?
•Will it be Beneficial to All
  Concerned?

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
•FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
•SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
•THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
•FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
