Introduction: Tony Hoch
Diana Fetter is a Rotarian out of Denver. Project Cure is a collaboration that has existed for 35 years in over 135 countries. They deliver health and hope to the world.
Prject Cure is the largest distributor of medical supplies and equipment. The group started in a garage and now ships 4-5 40-foot cargo containers every week. Countries need help with medical relief. The nonprofit functions with 100s of volunteers at seven warehouses in the U.S.
Project Cure representatives will go into a country and access facilities that are eligible for being shipped goods. They have sent 2,041 containers since inception in 1987. This is more than $74 million in medical supplies and equipment.
Project Cure has 35 staff and has 30,000 volunteers. Donations come from unused consumables, basically anything medical that doesn’t need to be plugged in. They also except gently used bio med items.
These come from U.S. hospital systems with items still in the sterile packaging with good expiration dates. They have less than 3% overhead. Besides shipping cargo containers, Project Cure also has train-the-trainer programs, kits that carry small amounts of critical emergency items to carry into small areas, and kids backpacks that contain first aid, a toy, sanitary items, and a snack.
One cargo container costs $30,000 to ship. Each container usually contains about $450,000 worth of items.
Project Cure has received 270 grants from more than 100 Rotary clubs, and Rotary has donated more than $20 million worth of donated medical supplies.
There is an Encampment resident who visited Ukraine. He is now working to fundraiser for containers to send medical supplies to Ukraine.

Rotary 4-way test
Of the things we think, say, or do:
•Is it the Truth?
•Is it Fair?
•Will it build Good Will and
Better Friendships?
•Will it be Beneficial to All
Concerned?
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
•FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
•SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
•THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
•FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
