    Information on Rotary Scholarship Programs:

    Global Grants: For graduate students studying abroad in one of Rotary’s causes:
    • Promoting peace
    • Fighting disease
    • Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
    • Saving mothers and children
    • Supporting education
    • Growing local economies
    • Protecting the environment
    Scholarships last from one to four years and can include an entire degree program. Global grant scholarships are funded using District Designated Funds (DDF), cash, and directed gifts and endowment earnings. The Foundation will provide an 80% World Fund match for all DDF contributions.

    Our club has participated with several Global Grant Scholars in the past, sending scholars to places such as Turkey and Germany.

    Rotary Peace Fellowships: Fully-funded fellowships for dedicated leaders from around the world to study at one of our peace centers.

    Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the capacity of peace and development professionals to become effective catalysts for peace. The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and internship and field-study expenses.

    Since the program began in 2002, the Rotary Peace Centers have trained more than 1,600 fellows who now work in over 140 countries. Many serve as leaders in governments; NGOs; education and research institutions; peacekeeping and law enforcement agencies; and international organizations like the United Nations and the World Bank.

    Rotary Peace Fellows choose from a Master’s Degree program, lasting 15-24 months with a 2-3 month field study, or a Professional Development Certificate Program, a one-year blended learning program for working professionals.
    Response: The Rotary Club of Laramie will make a donation to the public library children’s book fund in the speaker’s name.
    NOTE: We Do Not Donate a Book!

    Rotary 4-way test
    Of the things we think, say, or do:
    •Is it the Truth?
    •Is it Fair?
    •Will it build Good Will and Better Friendships?
    •Will it be Beneficial to All Concerned?

    The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
    •FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
    •SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
    •THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
    •FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
